Tutorial: Taking a full timed mock exam

A mock exam only tells the truth if you take it like the real thing. Here's the full run, including the timing traps.

   Set up real conditions

   Block out ~2 hours, phone away, headphones on, no dictionary. Open Mock Exams and read the intro screen — structure, the 55% pass threshold, and your past attempts on this exam.

2. 2

   Reading — don't spend the whole clock

   Parte 1 is 20 questions in 4 task types, sharing a 75-minute clock with writing. Budget ~45 minutes: questions first, then the text. Stuck? Answer something and move on — unanswered questions are the only unforgivable ones.

3. 3

   Writing — protect your 30 minutes

   Two tasks: 25–35 words and 60–80 words. Check the required points, hit the word range, leave 3 minutes to re-read for accents and verb endings. When the shared clock dies, writing dies with it — this is the discipline the mock trains.

4. 4

   Listening — two plays, that's it

   Parte 3 is 25 questions in 30 minutes. Each audio auto-plays exactly twice with a short pause between — no scrubbing, no replays. First play: listen for the answer. Second play: verify. Then commit and let it go; the next audio won't wait for your doubts.

5. 5

   Speaking — record the solo parts

   Answer the question, role-play and topic parts by voice; the AI transcribes and evaluates each. Parte 4 (the paired interaction) is shown as a scenario to practice with a partner — no recording needed there.

6. 6

   Read your results properly

   Your percentage comes from the 45 reading + listening questions; 55%+ is a pass. Writing and speaking get AI scores and full feedback alongside. The section that dragged you down is next week's focus — sections diverge more than you expect, and finding that out here costs nothing.
