    Speaking: a second candidate for the pair task, photos to describe, and the examiner reads every task

    • NewThe pair task (Parte 4 — Interação) now has a second candidate. In the speaking practice and in the mock exams the app plays Candidato B: the examiner reads the task, B opens, and you answer out loud. B reacts to what you say and helps you reach an agreement, as in the exam; if the AI partner isn't available, a recorded partner carries on.
    • NewHow it all works, with a sample of the examiner and the second candidate: CIPLE speaking practice now has a second candidate — and real photos to describe.
    • FixedIf you left a pair conversation halfway (for the next part of a mock exam or for the marking), Candidato B could keep talking in the background. Leaving now ends the conversation.
    • NewAs soon as a pair conversation ends you get feedback on your part, like your other speaking answers, and it's kept in the task's history so you can compare your attempts.
    • NewPhotos to describe: Parte 3 of every mock exam now shows a real photo, as in the exam, and the speaking practice has a new group of six photo tasks.
    • NewThe examiner reads every speaking task aloud: tap “Listen to the examiner” on a practice task or in Parts 1–3 of a mock exam.
    • ImprovedCandidato B speaks with a natural European Portuguese voice: one spoken conversation a day on the free plan, five on Full Access. After that the recorded partner carries on.
    • Fixed“I practiced this” on a pair task didn't stay saved. It does now.
    • FixedThe vocabulary quizzes (PT→EN and EN→PT) started from the first question again if you left halfway. They now pick up where you stopped on the same device, and the result screen shows the XP you actually received.
    • FixedFinishing a Contexto round marked the set's EN→PT quiz as done. Contexto now counts on its own: 10 XP the first time for each set, and every round counts toward your streak.

    A free podcast: Portuguese from Zero with Sofia

    • NewA new free podcast for beginners. Each episode drops you into one real situation in Lisbon, explains a few phrases you can use the same day, and pauses so you can say them out loud. The first episode, ordering coffee at a pastelaria, has the video, the chapters, the phrases and the full transcript.

    Blog articles in Urdu read naturally

    • ImprovedFourteen of the older Urdu blog articles had stiff, machine-translated wording, and some had sentences left half in English. They are translated again in plain, everyday Urdu: the exam guide, the 60-day study plan, the grammar checklist, the 300-word vocabulary list, the speaking guide, the exam dates and the guides to nationality, permanent residency and the Golden Visa, among others. The facts, numbers and links are the same as in the English articles.
    • FixedTwo Urdu articles had a small fault: the mock exam update had a broken paragraph, and the preparation-time guide was missing its link to the PLA course guide. Both are fixed.

    Vocabulary recordings are ready and checked

    • ImprovedThe 876 vocabulary words and their example sentences now play from ready recordings in a European Portuguese voice, so the speaker button answers at once. Each recording was checked, and the ones that said a word twice were recorded again.
    • FixedEleven words with a feminine form, such as professor/a, médico/a and último/a, read that form wrongly ("professoa", "dica", "ltima"). They now say "professora", "médica" and "última".

    New guide: moving to Portugal in English

    • NewA new guide on the blog for English speakers: do you need Portuguese to move to Portugal? When the law starts asking for A2 (permanent residency, citizenship), what A2 really means, why European and not Brazilian Portuguese, and a year-by-year plan. It's also in Portuguese, Russian, Ukrainian, Chinese, Hindi and Urdu.
    • FixedWith the site in another language, an article not yet translated into it sent you back to the blog list. It now opens in English.
    • FixedTwo older articles, in every language, still gave the exam fee as €75–95 and said to pay 24 hours before the exam. The fee is €95, paid within 24 hours of registering.

    Early list: European Portuguese from zero, for real life

    • NewWe're building a way to learn European Portuguese from zero on your own: every lesson ends with a real skill for life in Portugal (AIMA, the post office, phone calls), AI checks your writing and speaking, and grammar with classic exercises leads all the way to the CIPLE. Join the early list and we'll email you as soon as it opens.
    • NewJoining the early list now sends a short confirmation email, and the list is linked from the top of the home page and from the menu.
    • NewThe early list page also asks three quick, optional questions: where you are with Portuguese, what is hardest, and what you want to be able to do. Your answers decide what we build first.
    • FixedThe free guide form, and the support form for visitors who are not signed in, got stuck on the invisible security check and never sent. Both work again.

    New guide: failed the CIPLE? Pass the re-sit

    • NewGot an Insuficiente? A new guide on reading your result and passing the re-sit: where the cheapest points are, when a €25 re-mark is worth it, when to book the next session and a plan built on your weakest component. It's also in Portuguese, Russian, Ukrainian, Chinese, Hindi and Urdu.

    A faster blog and a clearer free guide

    • ImprovedThe blog loads much faster: article pictures are about a quarter of their old size, and covers further down the page load only when you scroll to them.
    • ImprovedThe free guide page now shows what's inside the 11-page PDF before you ask for it.

    AI check on writing and speaking works again

    • FixedThe AI check on writing and speaking, mock exams included, often said it was not available or returned your recording without feedback. Longer answers were cut off before the feedback was complete. Every check now comes back in full, and a little faster.

    New guide: how long it takes to prepare for the CIPLE

    AI feedback in Ukrainian, Hindi and Urdu

    • ImprovedThe AI check on your writing and speaking, mock exams included, explains each mistake in Portuguese and again in your interface language. Ukrainian, Hindi and Urdu now get their own language; until today they got the explanation in English.
    • ImprovedWith the app in Portuguese, you get the Portuguese explanation on its own, without an English copy underneath.

    A page for every feature

    • NewFeatures: one page for each part of the platform, with screenshots on a computer and a phone, what you get and how it works. Some pages let you try it: three grammar questions, flashcards, a real reading text and audio from the mock exams.
    • NewThe footer now links to every feature page, and each feature card on the home page leads to its page.
    • FixedThe grammar article in the Help Center still said a module needs all three levels; it now matches the app: Quick Check and Challenge finish a module, Advanced is a bonus.

    A new dashboard: four tabs, and an app-style bar on phones

    The dashboard had grown crowded, so we rebuilt it around one question: what should I do today? Nothing was removed; everything is sorted into four tabs.

    • NewThe dashboard now has four tabs. Today: your session for the day, your exam card and three quick numbers (readiness, streak, level). Practice: the six sections, word review and the grammar diagnostic. Exam: all 10 mock exams with your best score on each, plus the exam tips. Progress: readiness by section, your streak calendar, level, recent activity and badges.
    • NewOn phones the tabs sit in a bar at the bottom of the screen, like in an app, with Profile for your settings. The bar steps aside inside lessons and during a mock exam.
    • ImprovedSection pages are lighter: a card at the top picks up where you left off, lessons are grouped by topic or level, and the next one is marked Next up.
    • NewPassed already, or the exam date no longer matters? Close the exam card with the ×. You can bring it back in Settings → “Show the exam card on my dashboard”.
    • ImprovedThe mock exam list moved into the Exam tab, and leaving an exam brings you back there.
    • NewPrefer the old dashboard? Choose Classic under Interface in Settings to bring back the previous one-page layout, and switch back to the new one there whenever you like.
    • ImprovedEvery page in the app now has the same width, Settings is laid out in two columns on larger screens, and the back arrow at the top of each page is bigger and easier to tap.
    • ImprovedInviting friends and your referral balance moved to the 🎁 Invite button at the top of the dashboard.
    • ImprovedThe welcome tour for new accounts is shorter: today's session, readiness, streak, level and where the tabs are.
    • ImprovedLessons, word lists and audio now load from our servers when you open them. If your connection drops, you'll see a “Try again” button instead of an empty page.
    • ImprovedThe home page shows the new dashboard and fresh screenshots of every section.
    • FixedCounts read naturally in English: “2 things left today” and “Review 23 due words” instead of “thing(s)” and “word(s)”.

    Print the grammar rules and word lists

    • NewFor studying on paper: open Grammar or Vocabulary and press “Print the rules” / “Print word lists”, or print a single module or set from its page. Choose “Save as PDF” in the print window to keep a file. Exercises, listening and AI feedback stay in the app, where your answers are checked.
    • FixedGrammar progress now counts a module once both of its levels, Easy and Challenge, are finished (Advanced is a bonus). Before, each finished level counted as a whole module, so the grammar number and your readiness looked higher than they really were — they may drop a little now.
    • FixedThe back arrow on a module or on the mock exams takes you back to the dashboard section you came from, and the vocabulary page no longer shows its number of sets twice.

    Smaller fixes from a full walk through the app

    • FixedIn today's session, the word review now ticks off once you've reviewed today's share of words — it used to count as done after the very first card.
    • ImprovedThe AI writing check now also looks for the mistakes Portuguese examiners mark down most: obrigado/obrigada and other forms that must agree with who is writing, você where a Portuguese reader expects o senhor/a senhora, and Brazilian forms instead of European ones.
    • FixedRussian, Ukrainian, Chinese, Portuguese, Hindi and Urdu: weekdays, dates, minutes, the "report an error" button and the XP note on the writing list no longer appear in English, and counts read naturally ("2 дня", not "2 дней").
    • FixedRecent activity on your dashboard now labels last night's lesson "Yesterday" — it used to say "Today" for anything done in the past 24 hours.

    Streaks follow your own clock, a newer AI examiner and a faster home page

    • FixedYour study day now follows your own time zone. Days used to be counted in Greenwich time (UTC), so a morning session in Asia or a late-evening one in Brazil could land on the wrong day in your streak calendar. The streak counter also drops to 0 right after a missed day, instead of showing the old number until your next exercise.
    • ImprovedWriting and speaking feedback now comes from a newer Claude model, and if the AI service is briefly overloaded we retry automatically instead of showing you an error.
    • ImprovedOur reminder and tips emails now share one schedule, so they never arrive back to back — at most one a day.
    • ImprovedThe home page loads much faster on phones: the page is about three times lighter, and analytics no longer hold up the first screen.

    New guide: what the CIPLE costs

    • NewWhat the CIPLE exam costs: the €95 fee, the 24-hour payment rule, why it is never refunded, and CAPLE's prices for re-marking and certificates. It's also in Portuguese, Russian, Ukrainian, Chinese, Hindi and Urdu.

    A fresh look for the free tools page

    • ImprovedThe free tools page got a redesign: every tool now has its own photo card, and the citizenship calculator and the free CIPLE guide get bigger showcase cards, so it's quicker to spot the one you need.

    Set 1 of the vocabulary trainer saves your progress again

    • FixedFinishing Set 1 — Verbos Essenciais in the vocabulary trainer on the free plan popped up a red "Failed to save progress" box, and the set never counted as done. The free plan does include the first two sets — the check on our side was looking at the wrong one. Redo the set once and your completion and XP will register normally.

    Culture test practice & a way back in if you never confirmed your email

    • NewA free citizenship culture test practice quiz: questions on the five subject areas the 2026 nationality law names — history, culture and national identity, political organisation, rights and duties, and everyday society. Each answer comes with an explanation and the law, date or institution it rests on. The official test is not regulated yet and the quiz says so plainly.
    • FixedIf you signed up but never clicked the confirmation link, signing in showed a dead-end error. It now explains what happened and offers to send the confirmation email again.
    • NewYour referral link is now yours to choose: open your dashboard, find the referral card and pick a code like cipleready.com/r/YANA4821. Links you already shared keep working — old codes stay pointed at you forever.
    • FixedA permissions check on profiles was not being enforced, so an account could change fields it had no business changing. Paid access was never exposed (a separate rule covers it) and nothing in the data suggests anyone used it. Fixed and verified.

    First-login setup, a real next step & badge fixes

    The dashboard now tells you what to do next instead of showing six equal tiles.

    • NewNew accounts get a 30-second setup on first login: your exam date, your current Portuguese level and a recommended starting path — then the dashboard tour.
    • NewA Your next step card on the dashboard: your weakest module from the diagnostic, or Module 1 / Mock Exam 1 / the diagnostic depending on your level, until you're rolling.
    • NewThe grammar diagnostic now saves results to your account, so they follow you across devices and feed the next-step card.
    • Improved"Restart tour" in Settings replays only the dashboard walkthrough, not the setup questions.
    • ImprovedThe readiness meter now measures how your recent attempts went, not just how much you've opened: 40% coverage, 60% your last five results per section, with mock exams weighted highest. Details in the dashboard guide. Expect your number to drop a little — it's honest now.
    • NewReading and listening attempts now remember your answers: the attempt history shows which questions you missed last time.
    • ImprovedMock exam results are now weighted like the real exam — reading + writing 45%, listening 30%, speaking 25% — with the CAPLE band (Suficiente / Bom / Muito Bom) and a per-part breakdown. Skipping a speaking prompt now asks you to confirm, and a result with skipped parts is labelled an estimate.
    • NewInstall CIPLE Ready on your phone: open the site in Chrome (Android) or Safari (iPhone) and choose "Add to Home Screen" — it launches straight into your dashboard, with shortcuts for today's session, word review and mock exams.
    • NewExam-room noise: a switch on listening exercises and in the mock-exam player adds a quiet background hum, so the real room won't be the first time you hear Portuguese over other people.
    • NewThe writing section now shows your recurring mistakes — the grammar errors from your last AI checks grouped by pattern (gender agreement, prepositions, ser/estar…), each with a link to the module that drills it.
    • ImprovedFaster first load: only your interface language is downloaded now (the other three load when you switch). Word pronunciations are cached, so repeated plays are instant.
    • NewExam calendar: the dashboard shows the next CAPLE session you can still enrol for (with the deadline) and the expected results date for yours; study reminders now include three exam emails — one month, two weeks and one week before.
    • NewAfter the exam we ask how it went: a 30-second result form, a Trustpilot review ask if you passed, and the next sessions if you didn't.
    • NewToday's session — the dashboard now opens with a short plan for the day (about 20 minutes: due words, one grammar module, one reading or listening, one writing or speaking; a mock exam on Saturdays and in the last two weeks). It ticks itself off as you go. Details in the dashboard guide.
    • NewSpaced repetition for vocabulary: words you miss come back in 1, 3, 7, 14, 30 and 60 days, then graduate. The dashboard shows how many are due, and Word review runs through every due word across all sets.
    • ImprovedWriting tasks have one clear action: Check with AI grades your text, saves the attempt and completes the task. Rewrite and check again as often as you like; a fallback \"Submit without AI check\" appears only if the grader is unavailable.
    • FixedThe Bookworm badge is now actually awarded when you finish all 32 reading texts — it was listed but could never be earned.
    • FixedWord Wizard now unlocks only when all 21 vocabulary sets are complete in every mode, matching what the dashboard shows.
    • FixedSubmitting a writing task longer than 100 words no longer fails to record your XP, and your writing score in progress is now the AI score instead of the word count.
    • ImprovedEmail preferences in Settings are translated into Russian, Chinese and Portuguese.
