Tutorial: Recording your first speaking answer

Nobody enjoys hearing their own Portuguese at first. Record anyway — the gap between "it felt fine" and what you actually said is exactly what this tool closes.

   Pick a prompt

   Go to Speaking and start with a personal question (prompts 1–3 are free). Read the prompt, the key vocabulary chips and the useful phrases — give yourself a minute to think, like on the real exam.

   Allow the microphone

   Tap record — your browser asks for mic permission the first time. Speak for up to 3 minutes. Aim for 30–60 seconds of continuous speech; done is better than perfect. If the mic won't cooperate, record a voice memo on your phone and use the upload option (up to 10 MB).

   Listen back, then submit

   Play your recording. First instinct will be to re-record everything — do one retake at most, then submit for analysis. Perfectionism is the enemy of volume, and volume is what improves speaking.

   Read the analysis

   You get a transcript of what you said, a score, which task points you covered or missed, grammar errors with rules explained, vocabulary suggestions and a fluency comment — in Portuguese and your interface language. Compare with the model answer at the end.

   Tick the self-check & repeat

   Use the self-check list on the prompt page, then do one more prompt while you're warm. For the paired part of the real exam, grab a friend and use the Interação entre Candidatos scenarios on the speaking list page.
