Grammar: 20 modules, 3 levels & the diagnostic
5 min read Updated 2026-08-31
Grammar is the backbone of CIPLE prep — after mock exams it carries the largest weight in your readiness score, and your diagnostic and session results feed it. The section has 20 modules with 100 exercises each (2000 total), ordered roughly the way the exam demands them: present tense, ser/estar, past tenses, prepositions, pronouns, connectors and essential expressions.
Inside a module
- Rules — conjugation tables, common verbs and example sentences with the key patterns highlighted. Rules and translations are available in English, Russian and Chinese.
- Quick Check — 30 warm-up exercises, served 10 per session.
- Challenge — 40 mid-level exercises, served 8 per session.
- Advanced ⭐ — 30 harder exercises, served 5 per session.
Each session draws only from exercises you haven't answered yet, so repeating a level keeps giving you fresh questions. Correct answers earn 10 XP and auto-advance; wrong answers wait for you and can be retried at the end.
Practice Mistakes
Once you get something wrong, a red Practice Mistakes tab appears in the module. It recycles your wrong answers until you clear them — the fastest way to turn weak points into solved ones. Mistake practice awards no XP; it's pure repair work.
The diagnostic test
At Grammar → Diagnostic you get 20 questions — one per module — in about 5 minutes. The result ranks your weakest modules with direct links to practice them. Retaking it serves a different question variant, and your recent attempts are kept so you can watch the score climb.
Start your prep with the diagnostic, then work modules in this order: your weak ones first, then top up the rest. Finishing a module means completing all three difficulty levels.
Found an error in an exercise?
