Reading practice: 32 texts in exam formats

    3 min read Updated 2026-08-31

The reading section has 32 texts with 141 questions. Texts 1–26 are the everyday formats the exam loves — notices, emails, ads, menus, timetables, letters, tourist information. Texts 27–32 are ⭐ Advanced and mirror the real exam task types: SMS matching, public notices, longer narratives and a statistics text.

    How an exercise works

    1. 1

      Read the questions first

That's the #1 exam strategy — know what you're looking for before you read the text.

    2. 2

Read the text and answer everything

All questions for a text are answered together; options are shuffled each session.

    3. 3

      Verify

The whole text is scored at once — you'll see each answer marked, earn 15 XP, and can retry for a better score.

Every attempt is saved, so each text shows your history and best result. Completed texts count toward the Bookworm badge (all 32) and 12% of your readiness score — your last five results in the section count too, not just the number of texts finished.

On the real exam, reading shares one 75-minute clock with writing. When you can answer a practice text comfortably, start timing yourself — the mock exams train exactly that.
