    Listening practice: European Portuguese audio

    3 min read Updated 2026-09-02

The listening section has 19 exercises with 83 questions, all in European Portuguese. Exercises 1–13 are everyday scenarios — voicemails, station announcements, a hotel check-in, a pharmacy visit, a radio contest. Exercises 14–19 are ⭐ Advanced and use real exam task types, including the "Onde se diz?" phrase-to-place matching.

    Exam-room noise

The real listening test is played in a room with other candidates, chairs and air conditioning — nothing like headphones at home. The Exam-room noise switch (next to the player here, and the "Ruído" button in the mock-exam player) adds a quiet background hum under the audio. Practise with it on at least a few times before the exam; the setting is remembered.

    How practice mode works

    • Play the audio as many times as you like, and scrub freely — practice mode has no replay limits.
    • Answer the questions (some exercises attach separate audio per question), then verify to see your score and earn 15 XP.
    • A full transcript is available on the page — listen first, answer, then read the transcript to catch what you missed.

The real exam plays each audio exactly twice, with no pausing or scrubbing — and the mock exams enforce the same rule. Use free practice to build comprehension, then switch to mocks to build exam discipline.

Real exam audio is fast. If an exercise feels comfortable, don't replay it five times — move on. Training slightly above comfort level is what closes the speed gap.
